How it all started
The Vroom Slide System was founded by Brian Vroom.
Brian experienced the same slide‑out frustrations in his own motorhome that many RV and caravan owners in New Zealand experience - what is meant to create the luxury of extra living space at the push of a button became the most stressful part of every trip.
Stuck slides, crooked movement, grinding noises, and mid-travel stalls left Brian and his wife stranded miles from home.
With little support from the original manufacturer, Brian soon realised that enjoying his vehicle long‑term would require a far more reliable solution. As a mechanical engineer, he set out to design a slide‑out drive mechanism that was trouble‑free and would last the life of the motorhome while still fitting within the envelope of the existing structure.
Months of engineering, testing, and multiple prototypes followed. The result was the Vroom Slide System, an innovation driven by a determination to create a slide‑out that RV owners could finally trust.
